Hull FC hope to continue momentum as St Helens visit in Super League

Following their 40-14 over Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup last time out, Hull will be aiming to carry their form into the Super League meeting with St Helens at what should be a full-to-capacity KC Stadium.
In the absence of top scorer Tom Lineham, 20-year-old rookie and hat-trick hero Curtis Naughton is relishing this upcoming match, and is 9/1 with Coral to cross the whitewash first for Lee Radford’s side against the team he made his debut.
“Radders has given me a shot and I’m happy just to take it week by week,” Naughton said. “We did very well against Cas. You’re not going to play any game without a bit of pressure but it’s how you rise above it.
“Hopefully, I did the job and we’ll see how I get on. I’ve just got to keep training hard. But there’s no way better to prove ourselves as a big team than by beating the champions,” he continued.
“Saints are a very tough team, even if they have injuries. We’re all going to have to have our heads switched on to keep building on our confidence with a victory.”
Coach Radford has been impressed with the player’s contribution and thinks he can play a big part in the second half of the campaign.
“It was great to see him carry on from where he left off. I thought his debut against Saints was fantastic and he backed that up with a couple of tidy performances,” Radford said whose side are 6/5 for the win.
“He’s got his chance again and he took it with both hands. That’s his to lose now, I think. We got warned off signing Curtis when I spoke to some people who knew him, but since he’s been at the club he’s been brilliant.
“He really likes the surroundings and environment and I think that shows in how he’s playing and how he’s training.”
Saints, meanwhile, beat York 46-6 in the Challenge Cup last time out, with Adam Swift also scoring a hat-trick. As a result, he is 7/1 to score first, while Thomas Makinson, who bettered him with four tries, is also 7/1 in the same market.
