Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore gives us the lowdown on his rides at Market Rasen on Boxing Day

It is the first time in around 15 years that I’ve not ridden at Kempton on Boxing Day, so it is going to be a little different at Market Rasen.

I didn’t have a ride in the King George or any of the other feature races so I didn’t really have a choice!

11.55 Market Rasen – The Twisler

I have won a handful of races on this horse before so I know him very well. He is dropping down in class here, which makes life easier for him.

He has also got the visor on for the first time and I’d like to think he will have an excellent chance. Hopefully I can get the day off to a winning start.

12.30 Market Rasen – Secret Trix

I’ve picked up the spare ride on Secret Trix who looks to be the second strong from Olly Murphy’s yard behind Duke Of Rockingham. He made a pleasing introduction to hurdles last time but he will need to improve to be in the mix here.

1.40 Market Rasen – Fugitives Drift

It will be the first time I have ridden this horse who is trained by Nicky Henderson. He did it well at Cartmel back in May, but it didn’t quite work out for him at Sandown last time out.

Thankfully he is back in calmer water again and I think he has an outstanding chance.

2.15 Market Rasen – Sidi Ismael

This horse is the reason why I am riding at Market Rasen on Boxing Day! He has been great since he arrived in the yard and I rode him to victory at Lingfield on his first outing for us.

He then blew them away at Wetherby on his second start. On the basis of that form, this horse is going to be very hard to beat as he chases his hat-trick.

2.50 Market Rasen – Master Blaze

I was a little disappointed with him at Doncaster last time out. He is a much better horse than though, so I am hoping we get much more from him this time.

I think he has a bright future, but he obviously has to show it in the UK.

King George VI Chase views

It is a fantastic renewal of the race and the horse I’d love to ride in it is Asterion Forlonge for Willie Mullins. If he jumps around, I think he will win.

I think it might just be too sharp of a test for Minella Indo, however, if Rachael (Blackmore) can just keep him in contention turning for home, he will finish better than everybody else.

Of the UK horses, Frodon has the best form. He easily gets underestimated, but on recent form and everything we know, he has an outstanding chance of repeating what he did 12 months ago.
