Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore gives us the lowdown on his rides at Sandown on Saturday

Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore has four rides at the Esher track on Saturday afternoon and also offers his views on the day’s feature race, the Grade One Tolworth Hurdle.

1.15 Sandown – Red Happy

This horse was meant to run at Leicester a couple of weeks ago but unfortunately that meeting was off.

He has some good form in France so we are hoping he will adapt quickly to racing in the UK on his debut for the yard.

This is obviously a competitive race and if Farinet reproduces his C&D run here he will be hard to beat, but he needs to bounce back from a disappointing run at Cheltenham in a Grade Three last time.

1.50 Sandown – Numitor

It was a really tough call for me to make between Numitor and Moonlighter.

The latter won over this C&D off a 3lb higher mark last year, but I just felt Heather Main’s horse is a little bit more consistent at the moment.

The more rain, the better for him, as he likes soft ground. He did really well around Newbury, and I think he will like Sandown.

He is an improving horse and I think he has an outstanding chance. Obviously, Gunsight Ridge’s run behind L’Homme Presse last time makes him a big danger.

3.00 Sandown – Gwencily Berbas

This horse was a big price when he prevailed at Exeter over the marathon distance last time.

That was the first time I had ridden him, and things work out well. My horse should be staying on here when others have cried enough, as there are no issues with his stamina.

3.35 Sandown – Hydroplane

He was a very good Flat horse who was third in the Chester Plate, but he has to bounce from a disappointing run at Doncaster on his seasonal reappearance.

His form last year was decent, so hopefully he can reproduce something like that here.

Tolworth Novices’ Hurdle view

Constitutional Hill looks an outstanding individual and I would be very surprised if he was beaten based on his performance over track and trip last month.

He could very special so it will be interesting to see what he produces.
