Tom Scudamore: “Braganza Bay is improving and is the one to beat in the race”
Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore gives us the lowdown on his rides at Hereford on Saturday
3.41 Hereford – Duc De Beauchene
He ran ok last time at Chepstow, but he is going to have to step up again in this race. Jonjo O’Neill’s runner Prince Escalus is a C&D winner and looks the one we are all going to have to beat. The more rain which falls will help my horse.
She has been running consistently well. This a tight contest where you can make a case for all of them. She was only just touched off at Kempton last month by a short head. Prior to that defeat, she won four races on the spin. A repeat of the form she has been showing all season will see her go close.
This doesn’t look the strongest of races, and with the way my horse has been improving, he is probably the one to beat in this. It is his second start since having a wind-op, so I am expecting a big performance.
The drop back in trip will suit him. It was too testing for him at Ffos Las last time out. The ground should be much better here. A repeat of his Southwell run on his penultimate outing gives him a great chance of success.
Cheltenham Festival
It is going to be a great week next week. After everyone missed out last year, it is going to be a fantastic atmosphere when the tapes go up on the Tuesday. I am sure all those travelling across to the meeting will make the most of it, and it will feel as good as ever.
