Tom Scudamore: “Gericault Roque is the one they will all have to beat”
Coral ambassador Tom Scudamore gives us the lowdown on his rides at Warwick on Saturday
He has got bits and pieces of form and the pick of it is his run at Ffos Las where he was a close second.
Obviously, he has to bounce back from his fall at Plumpton last time out and I think he has an each-way chance here, but hopefully he can get his nose in front for the first time.
3.00 Warwick – Gericault Roque
He ran a tremendous race at Newbury last month, but the handicapper has had his say and put him up 6lb in the ratings.
I really think the front two horses in that race are two improving horses and the way he was plugging on at Newbury suggests he will get this trip.
We also hoping he turns into a Grand National horse and he has plenty going for him. He will handle Warwick and the conditions and looks the one they all have to beat.
3.35 Warwick – Sire De Berlais
It is fantastic to pick up the ride on Sire De Berlais. He has been there before and has got the t-shirt.
He has to bounce back from his run at Leopardstown, but he is a Cheltenham Festival winner and he has been second in the Stayers’ Hurdle.
I am really looking forward to riding him as this horse has plenty of class.
