Tom Scudamore: “Via Dolorosa’s Sefton fourth was a good run over the big fences”
Tom Scudamore gives us the lowdown on his Aintree rides
Eyed ran a really nice race behind Constitution Hill at Sandown in the Tolworth, and we all saw what that one went on to do in the Supreme at Cheltenham.
He is a big-priced outsider here though, which is fair enough against this opposition, although I’d be hopeful he’ll make up into a nice horse next season.
I get a taste of the Grand National fences in the Topham, where I ride Via Dolorosa. He makes a quick return having pulled him up in the Coral Scottish National last weekend.
That just wasn’t his day, but he’d won his two starts before that, and ran a decent fourth over these fences in the Sefton back in the autumn, so if he’s got over his Ayr exertions, he could give me a good spin round.
