Odds and preview for Thursday’s festival action at Doncaster

After a thrilling Legends Day, we’re getting straight back into it with Ladies Day at St Leger.

The seven-race card will showcase some of the most promising fillies’ out there, with the Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes at 15:15 promising a particularly progressive field.

Ahead of the action, we’ve cast our eye over our pick of the day’s races.

Doncaster

13:10 Conditions Stakes

13:40 EBF Fillies’ Nursey

14:10 May Hill Stakes (Fillies’ Group 2)

15:15 Park Hill Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3)

15:45 bet365 Handicap

16:15 Doncaster JCT600 Handicap

Doncaster 13:40

After a win at Pontefract, Meu Amor is capable of taking her place at the front of this promising nursery field. She goes into handicaps with an up in trip and could have plenty more to offer.

Sky Angel has improved with every run and a 2nd place finish over 7f at Newmarket showed just what she’s capable of. If she improves again here, a first place could follow.

A maiden win here for Nazuna also means she holds good claims, though the drop in trip could prove a stumbling block.

Doncaster 14:10

Zabeel Queen is tipped for success as she steps up in class after her winning debut at Ascot back in July. Star of Emaraaty’s Sweet Solera win perhaps flatters based on her patchy form since, but it would be a lesser shock to her win here.

Indigo Girl’s debut win at Yarmouth and the quality of her breeding mean she’s being backed as one of the hottest prospects in the field, while the steadily progressing Ubuntu is also worth a look.

Doncaster 15:15

Though stepping up in trip after her worthy runners-up in the Yorkshire Oaks five lengths behind the sublime Love, it’s expected to suit Alpinista, who showed major improvement there. The Frankel filly is the favourite here after that strong stayers’ performance.

Monica Sheriff won five starts in a row after her debut and performed when finishing fourth at Ebor in her only run this year. There could be a lot more to come.

Another who is progressing quickly is Believe in Love, with four wins in her last four runs, including an excellent win as second-favourite at Newmarket two weeks ago. May be suited to a fast-paced early gallop.
