Sports Schedule: Wednesday 15th March
Preview of Wednesday’s best sporting action
There’s more racing and darts to look forward to today, as well as a scattering of football. There’s plenty of Esports action too, plus more in our round-up of Wednesday’s sport.
All of these events are still scheduled to go ahead at the time of writing:
Horse racing
Racing continues behind closed doors Down Under in the early hours. We’ve got odds from meetings at Randwick, Ascot, Darwin, Geelong, Strathalbyn and the Sunshine Coast.
They’re still going strong across the Atlantic too, with three cards to look forward to in the USA. It gets started at Tampa Bay Downs at 17:30, before Will Rogers Downs and then Fonner Park join in later in the evening.
There’s also more cards in Asia and Sweden, with our trader particularly looking forward to Happy Valley’s Cedar Handicap at 15:50.
Darts
Andy Jenkins and the in-form Jason Askew are among those up in the Modus Icons of Darts tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
That’s followed by Modus A Night at the Darts, with a repeat of the 2015 BDO World Championship Final the highlight of the evening. Scotty ‘Dog’ Mitchell edged out Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams 7-6 in sets during their classic match five years ago. It’s the best of nine legs here, but it should still be a thrilling encounter.
Adam Gawlas also puts his 100% record this season on the line against Vitezslav Sedlak in the Czech Premier League.
Football
Nicaragua’s Primera Division takes centre-stage on Wednesday, with CD Walter Ferretti looking to extend their three-match winning streak against struggling Las Sabanas CF. We’ve got the hosts as 3/10 favourites.
Esports
It’s Week Two of the CS:GO Home Sweet Home Cup, with the Group B teams battling it out for a place in the Playoffs.
Sprout face 4/7 favourites forZe at 10:50, before Japaleno take on Nordavind at 12:20, with little to choose between them in the betting.
Elsewhere, there’s plenty of Dota 2 and League of Legends action, including the Legends Pro League and CDA Professional League.
Golf
The Cactus Tour event at Union Hills wraps up, with Sarah Burnham chasing a third win in four starts. The pre-tournament favourite is one shot ahead of the field, following an opening round of 70.
Wednesday evening also brings the final round of the Arrowhead Classic, with the Leader’s due to start at 17:00. Alex Cejka, once ranked 33 in the world, will be hoping to add this title to his haul, which includes a sole PGA Tour victory – the 2015 Puerto Rico Open.
Snooker
The Armenian Snooker Championship also continues on Wednesday morning, with In-Play odds on all three matches from 7:00.
