Silvestre De Sousa cut to 10/3 in Jockeys’ Championship betting
2018 winner had been at 6/1
Our traders have cut Silvestre De Sousa’s chances of regaining the Flat Jockeys’ Championship this year, following plenty of support.
De Sousa is now 10/3 to win the title (was 6/1). He’s second in the betting behind reigning champion Oisin Murphy (4/5).
Tom Marquand has also seen his chances of winning the title for the first time trimmed – he’s now a 7/1 shot (was 10/1). He rode 26 winners during 11 weeks in Australia.
“Oisin Murphy is sure to make a strong defence of the title he won for a first time last year, but punters perhaps think a shorter championship race this year could help the chasing pack, with Silvestre De Sousa backed to regain the title he last won in 2018, and Tom Marquand popular after his great winter in Australia,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Flat Jockeys’ Championship
4/5 (from 8/13) Oisin Murphy, 10/3 (from 6) Silvestre De Sousa, 5 Danny Tudhope, 7 (from 10) Tom Marquand, 12 Ben Curtis, 20 William Buick, Jim Crowley, 25 Hollie Doyle
