Sean Reid’s jackpot-winning picks included a 80/1 shot

A man from Milton Keynes was celebrating this weekend, after he became the first Coral customer to win the entire £25,000 jackpot in our free-to-play Racing Super Series game.

Sean Reid, a 27-year-old car-park company worker, was taking part in the game for the first time on Sunday, and was shocked to see a balance of £25,000 in his Coral account when he logged on later in the afternoon to check his football bets, as he hadn’t been following the racing results through the day.

Sean Reid said:  “I’d never played the Racing Super Series before, but I was online placing my Sunday football bets and saw a link to it, so for whatever reason – I really don’t know why! – I thought I’d have a go. I picked a selection of favourites and names I liked, guesses really, and even though I got an email saying there were 16 of us left in with one race to go, I still didn’t think much about it.”

“It was only when I logged in later to check my football bets that I saw there was £25,000 in my account, and then I realised that I must have won! I called customer services to check I wasn’t imagining it, I was so shocked I had to ask if it was really happening, and when he said ‘yes, you have won £25,000’, I was like, wow!  I just couldn’t believe it.”

“It was a lucky day for me all round, as I also won £550 for a 25p football bet, I actually cashed out of that one as I thought I’d better not get greedy having won £25,000! And I’m sure I’ll have another go at the Super Series this weekend, why wouldn’t I?!”

“I currently live with my parents, so these winnings mean I can move out to my own place, and I’ll get driving lessons too, as well as have some fun, so it really was an amazing thing to happen to me.  All I can say is, have a go, as this proves anyone can win!”

The game – which we launched last July – requires players to pick a horse to place in each of seven chosen races, and then in a knockout/placepot format, any entrants who remain in the game after all seven races have been run split the total prize-pool, which Coral guarantee to be at least £25,000.

Coral’s David Stevens said:  “Not only has Sean become the first Coral customer to win the entire Racing Super Series jackpot, he did so at his first attempt, and we’re delighted his £25,000 prize will make such a positive difference to his life.”

Sean’s seven Racing Super Series picks (Sunday 11th April) were:

14:10 Leopardstown – Poetic Flare (won 3/1)

14:23 Warwick – Voice Of Calm (won 5/2F)

14:40 Leopardstown – Keeper Of Time (won 80/1)

14:55 Warwick – One More Fleurie (won 9/4)

15:20 Plumpton – Commanche Red (won 7/1)
