Chepstow showpiece rearranged due to waterlogging

After the declaration of 18 runners for Saturday’s Coral Welsh Grand National, Secret Reprieve remains the 4/1 favourite for victory.

The Chepstow showpiece has been rescheduled from 27th December due to heavy waterlogging at the course, with the race now due to get underway at 15:10 on Saturday 9th January, weather permitting.

Secret Reprieve heads the field ahead of Springfield Fox, who retains the 7/1 tag as second favourite, with Christmas In April and Truckers Lodge both 9/1 for victory.

Coral’s David Stevens said: “Having been denied by adverse weather once, we’re hoping this season’s Coral Welsh National can take place this weekend, as it promises to be another cracking renewal, with the market headed by Secret Reprieve, as it has been since his course success last month, while Christmas In April would be a popular and emotional winner for Team Tizzard.”
