Joe Tizzard: “I’m expecting Slate House to run a big race”
Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard gives us the lowdown on the Team Tizzard Saturday runners at Wincanton
Wincanton 12.55 – Bold Conduct
Bold Conduct ran well first time up after a lengthy absence, but he bounced on us last time out, stopping three out, which was disappointing.
We’ll ride him to get round here, give him some confidence, and he’ll get a handicap mark as well.
He’s alright this horse, but I was disappointed with that last run, hopefully we’ll get him back on track here, and once he’s handicapped I’m sure he’ll be competitive.
Rectory Oak disappointed a little bit last time as well, he’d run a lovely, encouraging run first time up, but like a few of ours he didn’t quite run his race in December.
He’s done well at home over Christmas though, and I do think he’s in off a competitive mark here, so he’s hopefully not without a chance.
Wincanton 2.40 – Earth Business
Earth Business has put in a couple of nice runs, finishing second and third, and he’ll have his day soon.
The conditions here will suit, it’s definitely the right race for him, and once everything clicks with him, he’ll win a couple of races I’m sure.
I like Slate House for this race. He’s fit and well at home, we’ve put the blinkers on him for the first time, and he’s schooled really well in them.
He’s giving me the feeling at home that he’s coming back to somewhere near his best, which would make him a very well handicapped horse, and this looks a lovely race for him. I’m certainly expecting him to run a big race.
