Joe Tizzard: “Oscar Elite is our best chance of a winner this weekend”
Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard gives us a lowdown on Team Tizzard’s Saturday runners
12.15 Cheltenham – The Widdow Maker
He did well last season and then won first time out at Wincanton. He was stuck in the mud a little bit on his latest outing at Kempton over Christmas, but the good ground will suit him around Cheltenham.
He is getting towards the top of his handicap mark now, but hopefully he can remain competitive.
1.13 Uttoxeter – Western Baron
This will be his first run at a racecourse as we have had a few issues with him. It will be an education for the horse and Uttoxeter is a lovely nice track for him to start out at.
Oscar Elite ran in the Grade Two Dipper Novices’ Chase last time out and he did not disgrace himself.
He didn’t quite see out the trip on the ground but this drop back to handicap company makes it much easier for him.
He obviously finished second in the Albert Bartlett last year and we are hoping he can be just as good over fences. He’s got a really good chance and I’d say he is our best hope of a winner this weekend.
4.08 Uttoxeter – Earl Of Wisdom
He has not been the most consistent but he is off a very workable mark now. He’s had a wind-op since his last run and I expect him to run well on the back of that. He has a great each-way chance.
