Joe Tizzard: “Amarillo Sky could be one for the Grand Annual”
Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard gives us a lowdown on Team Tizzard’s Sunday runners
Newbury 2.30 – Shirocco’s Dream & So Said I
We run two in the Mares’ handicap hurdle, and there’s not much between the pair. Three miles around Newbury should suit both of them.
So Said I won well at Ludlow last time and is improving all the time, while Shirocco’s Dream was really competitive at the start of the season, winning her first two starts, but was then disappointing on her last run, which followed a wind op.
Both look capable of winning a race like this, but with fillies you just never know how they’ll turn up on the day. It makes it exciting at least!
Amarillo Sky looked as if he’d have won last time until he fell two from home at Newbury.
We’ve schooled him plenty at home since then and he’s looked good, but the handicapper put him up 3lb for that fall, so we’ll see where we are with him now.
Ideally we’ll get a confidence booster into him here, and he could then go on to the Grand Annual at Cheltenham.
