Coral ambassador Jim Crowley gives us the lowdown on his rides at Newbury on Saturday.

2.25 Newbury – Shaara

She is a lovely filly. I didn’t ride her when she scored on her debut at Yarmouth last season. She was a little green, but she overcame that to prevail.

John Gosden would not be running a horse in a Group Three contest on the back of a victory in a maiden if he did not feel she was up for it.

I’ve seen her working at home, and she is looking well. I am very excited to ride her and hopefully she can run a big race.

4.10 Newbury – Nawras

This horse has a fantastic pedigree, so it is no surprise he cost a lot of money. He has been working nicely at home.

These races are always competitive, and they tend to throw up a good horse. I really like my runner and I am expecting big things from him based on how happy everybody is with him back home.

4.45 Newbury – Morghom

Morghom is another nice horse from Marcus Tregoning’s yard. He is a half-brother to Mustajeeb who won the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.

It will be his first appearance, but he is ready to run and hopefully that will show up on the track in this maiden contest.

5.20 Newbury – Almuhit

Almuhit is a brother of the Oaks winner Taghrooda. He ran a nice race on his debut at Doncaster.

He is stepping up a furlong now, which should suit, based on his pedigree. John Gosden’s horses are running well at the moment so looking forward to him.

I’ve got four nice rides and I’d be disappointed if I did not have a winner or two.
