Coral ambassador Jim Crowley reflects on brilliant Baaeed and discusses his five rides on day three of the Ebor Festival

Baaeed was unbelievable on Wednesday in the Juddemonte. I have never experienced anything like that in my lifetime.

The Yorkshire crowd really came out and cheered him on and he put on a show and delivered the performance that everybody wanted. The reception we got when we came back in was just incredible.

I knew he was capable of a performance like that and he showed that the trip isn’t a problem.

I came to the two furlong pole with my feet on the dashboard having been more patient with him that previous runs just because of the slightly longer trip but if I’d ridden him like I usually do he’d of just won by even further.

He silenced any remaining doubters and he has to up there with the best horses of all time. Wednesday will live long in my memory.

I am not too worried about where he runs next, I am confident wherever we go and the owners have done a fantastic job so far. I’ll just carry on doing the steering.

Conditions ideal for Royal Scotsman

1.50 York – Mahrajaan

Mahrajaan disappointed here in the John Smith’s Cup back in July but then ran a much better race next time out at Newmarket.

Although that was a small field last time out, it was still a good run and he is a tidy horse.

He is well drawn here in stall four and that is a big boost. He has a good chance and I’m hopeful of a big run.

2.25 York – Reshoun

Reshoun is a really good, tough, solid horse but he is up against it here being so high up in the handicap.

He stays extremely well and will give a good account of himself but he is a lot to find on the ratings.

3.00 York – Royal Scotsman

This horse won at Glorious Goodwood and ran well in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, so has some fantastic form.

He carries a three-pound penalty for that latest success but he was so impressive at Goodwood that we are hopeful he can shoulder it no problem.

Conditions are ideal for him here now and I’m expecting a big run.

4.45 York – Racingbreaks Ryder

This is a very, very valuable maiden and Racingbreaks Ryder has been training well at home in the build up to it.

It is never easy to win first time out as you need to be tuned up and streetwise but he certainly has a good chance and is going to be a fun horse to ride.

5.20 York – System

System has gone up four pounds and this is a competitive race but she definitely should have an each-way chance.

It was a good win at Doncaster at the start of this month that she enjoyed and she has won a Listed race too, so everything points towards another good run here.
