Our expert previews the two feature races

French racing is in full swing and we’ve got a bumper 10-race meeting at Saint-Cloud to look forward to on Tuesday.

And our trader Joseph Kyne has outlined who to look out for in the two biggest races of the day – the Prix Birum (11:10) and the Prix Nubienne (11:40).

Prix Birum

This race sees two of France’s best jockeys, Cristian Demuro and Pierre-Charles Boudot, go head-to-head, with both in with a good chance of winning. Ridden by Demuro, Moujik is the likely favourite having won on his only start so far.

However, Boudout will be looking to snatch victory on National Service, who has fared better in France having struggled to achieve much in the UK. The gelding managed to win a Chantilly maiden after more than two years off and the race will likely be a straight shoot-out between these two.

Prix Nubienne

Demuro is back in action for this renewal aboard the impressive Waahaat, who won strongly by two-and-a-half lengths on her first start. She was beaten by a head last time out but still impressed, finishing more than three lengths clear of her rivals.

But she’ll face stiff competition from Black Fever and Mary’s France who both enter the race on the back of wins. Like Waahaat, Black Fever is trained by Jean Claude Rouget and will be ridden by Coralie Pacaut, who clearly gets on with the filly.

We’ll be offering five places if more than 15 horses run in the 12:50, 13:25, 14:00, 14:35 and the 15:10.
