Our trader Mark Underhill takes a look at the international racing schedule

There’s racing action across the globe on Wednesday, with full cards from the USA and Sweden.

And our expert has picked out the best of the bunch ahead of meetings at Tampa Bay Downs and Bergsåker.

Tampa Bay Downs

Since the start of 2019, Antonio A. Gallardo has ridden more winners than any other jockey at Tampa Bay Downs. 84 wins gives him an impressive strike rate of more than 22%.

With five winners here in the last week, which included a double on Sunday, Gallardo has a strong book of rides and could continue his fine form.

In the 21:00 race he’ll ride Christophe Clement’s only runner on the card, the three-year-old Bitcoin Passion. The trainer has won six of his last twelve races and boasts a strike rate of 42% at Tampa since last January.

Bitcoin Passion proved his backers right on his debut on this course in January and he’s expected to maintain his success in his second start given the form of his jockey and trainer.

Antonio A. Gallardo booked rides: Drill Bit (18.00), Darlindiva (or second-reserve Marmalade) (19.00), Never Have I Ever (19.30), Now I’m Broke (20.30), Bitcoin Passion (21.00)

Bergsåker

There are three cards in Sweden on Wednesday, with the nine-race card at Bergsåker kicking off proceedings at 17:pm.

The 19:30 race is the one to watch, where On Track Piraten lines up in pursuit of the winning prize of 60,000 Swedish Krona.

With 46 wins in 163 career starts, and a further 47 places, the gelding has won an incredible 18,155,288 Swedish Krona in prize money (which is more than £1.4 million at the current exchange rate).

Despite winning two consecutive races last March and continuing to work well at home, trainer Hans R Strömberg has admitted that the 12-year-old doesn’t quite look the force of old recently.

Fans of the gelding will want a strong performance but he’ll find things tough in post position eight. Angle of Attack will likely set off favourite having won two of his last three starts back in France.
