Horse Racing Trader’s Tips: Fairview Preview – Wednesday 25th March
Who is our trader looking out for in today’s racing?
With Irish racing now postponed until at least mid-April, our racing expert Mark Underhill has turned his attention to today’s action in South Africa.
There’s an eight-race card at Fairview, and Mark has picked out the trainer, jockey and horse that are worth keeping an eye on…
Leading Trainer
Alan Greef is setting the pace at Fairview. He trains at the track, with around 100 horses in his yard. He’s sent out 130 winners here since the current South African season started back in August. That’s more than double the total of any other trainer.
Leading Jockey
Greg Cheyne has ridden many winners for Greef. No other jockey can match his results this season. He’s ridden 97 winners from 322 mounts for a strike rate of just over 30%.
Cheyne secured two more wins for Greef at Fairview last Friday. The duo pair up with six more runners today:
All The Stars (11.00), Mighty Rock (12.30), Marmara Sea (13.00), Captain’s Princess (13.30), Elusive Diva (14.00), Ladysmith (14.35)
Horse To Watch
Miss Orange (14.00) has been triumphant on two of her previous five starts on Fairview’s Polytrack surface.
That includes a win by a head on her last run here early in the month when also ridden by Teague Gould.
Even though that was over a shorter trip, she already has experience as a course and distance winner, which means she could have a leading chance here.
