French racing is set to restart next week

Andre Fabre’s duo Victor Ludorum and Earthlight areleading the way in the betting for the Poule D’Essai Des Poulains.

Paris police have given the green light for racing to resumeon 11th May and the French 2,000 Guineas will be among the first of the FrenchClassics to take place.

Fabre trained Persian King to victory in last year’s raceand he could taste glory again this time around, with Victor Ludorum andEarlight going at 11/4 and 7/2 respectively.

“It remains to be seen whether or not overseas runnerswill be able to line up in the opening two French Classics,” said Coral’s DavidStevens.

“But even if they can travel, they will face an extremelystrong twin-pronged Andre Fabre challenge in the Poulains, with his twounbeaten Group One winners heading the market.”
