Coral has announced that it’s unique ‘free-to-join’ Coral Racing Club has surpassed 50,000 signed-up members less than three months after its launch on November 11.

Coral Racing Club members enjoy the experience of racehorse ownership as well as a host of other exclusive benefits, including stable visits, race day tickets and hospitality, and access to exclusive content and behind-the-scenes events throughout the year, all completely free of charge for Coral customers.

The Coral Racing Club has five racehorses in training for the current Jumps and All-weather Flat season, with Jonjo O’Neill training two, and Joe Tizzard, Rebecca Menzies and Scott Dixon training one apiece.

Whenever one of the racehorses is entered to run, Coral Racing Club members are given the chance to enter a ballot to be one of up to 10 owners for the day.

The Coral Racing Club owners-for-the-day receive the full ownership experience on the racecourse if they’re able to attend, with all prize money won being shared out between them regardless of whether they attend in person or not.

When Annie Mc finished second at Doncaster on December 29, winning just over £13,000 in prize money, each of the 10 Coral Racing Club members that won the chance to own her for the day, received £1,300.

Simon Clare, PR Director for Coral, said: “This is the only free-to-join racing club in existence and to smash through the 50,000-member mark in less than three months is nothing short of sensational.

“When we launched the Coral Racing Club, our primary objectives were to broaden and strengthen the appeal of horse racing amongst our customers, and position Coral as the leading betting brand for horse racing in the UK, and in reaching this milestone of 50,000 members, we are well on the way to achieving those objectives.

“We continue to focus significant marketing resource and budget on the Coral Racing Club, with a dedicated TV advert running across all broadcast platforms including ITV Racing, supported by our broadcast sponsorships and digital partnerships, with Talksport Radio, Sky Sports Racing, RacingTV, Racing Post and AtTheRaces.

“This is quite simply the biggest racehorse ownership marketing campaign every run in Britain and alongside the promotion of The Coral Racing Club, it will deliver a halo effect promoting horse racing and racehorse ownership more generally.

The 50,000 Coral Racing Club members have access to a dedicated content hub, where they receive regular updates from the trainers, and can view exclusive, premium behind-the-scenes video content from the yards, much of it produced in conjunction with the industry-leading Equine Productions, such as their Jockey Cam race footage.

Coral Racing Club members also get the chance to win thousands of tickets to go racing during the year at major Coral sponsorships, from the Coral-Eclipse to the Coral Scottish Grand National, including access to an exclusive Coral Racing Club Lounge experience at most events, where they will be able to mix and chat with the Club’s trainers and Coral ambassadors.
