Constitution Hill produced a breath-taking victory in the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 2023 and Coral have odds on how that will be followed next year.

Nicky Henderson’s superstar six-year-old remained unbeaten under rules after cantering up the hill to prevail by an easy nine lengths from Willie Mullins’ State Man.

There is still plenty of debate about future plans and whether he will be sent chasing next season but looking at the Constitution Hill betting odds, 4/6 is on offer for another victory in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham 2024.

Owner Michael Buckley has spoken of his ambition to one day win a Gold Cup with the horse and he is 25/1 to do so next year, while Coral offer 4/1 for next year’s Arkle should they decide to go down that route.

Coral’s Lewis Knowles said: “Constitution Hill was absolutely flawless in the Champion Hurdle last week, and although 4/6 might seem short, it’s going to take something very special to stop him providing he turns up in one piece.

“Michael Buckley has suggested that he’d love to try and emulate the great Dawn Run and win both the Champion Hurdle and the Gold Cup, but as the odds suggest, it looks most likely he’ll remain over hurdles for now.”

Looking to the future after the Champion Hurdle, jockey Nico de Boinville said: “He could do anything – I’m sure we will try him over a fence at some point.

“I guess we don’t want to pigeon hole him just as a hurdler; he could be anything. I think he’d be good over a fence. As racing fans, that’s what we want to see.

“I find in recent years horses have tended to get pigeon holed too much, bar Faugheen. It could be interesting, and he’s still so young.”
