Santini and Minella are joint second in the betting
Al Boum Photo is the early 7/2 favourite to win this year’s Gold Cup and complete a famous hat-trick, following his wins in 2019 and 2020.
Willie Mullins’ nine-year-old won at Tramore on New Year’s Day, as he has done before both of his previous Gold Cup victories. He’s now looking to follow Arkle, Best Mate and Golden Miller as a three-time winner of the Cheltenham showpiece.
Santini and Minella Indo are the 7/1 joint second favourites, ahead of Champ at 8/1.
“Despite winning the last two Gold Cups, Al Boum Photo has seemingly not yet captured punters’ hearts, as he remains 7/2 favourite to triumph for a third time, in contrast to the last horse to win three in a row – Best Mate – who was odds-on (4/5 with Coral) for the Cheltenham showpiece at this stage of his hat-trick seeking season,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
