Our expert previews tonight’s action across the pond
There’s plenty of racing to look forward to in Americatonight, including action from Fonner Park and Will Rogers Downs.
And our trader Matt Trounce has outlined who to watch outfor.
Fonner Park
The eight-race card at Fonner Park gets underway at 22:00and it’s the first of 16 meetings moved to the course after its regular seasoncame to a close last week.
Tonight’s meeting composes of four-furlong sprints aroundone turn and six-furlong sprints around two. The Spring Meeting saw theemergence of young jockey Dakota Wood, who won five consecutive races.
He returns to the track tonight looking to add to that tally and has eight rides booked. His best chance comes in the 22:27 with Taylor’s Beauty. The pair won together over course and distance at the end of March and they have outstanding claims again.
Dakota Wood booked rides: Behold De Flame (22:00),Taylor’s Beauty (22:27), Tap A Miracle (22:54), Bulls Eye Betty (23:21),Jessica Glitters (23:48), Blessing Noted (00:15), Silis (00:42), Brett’s Boy(01:09)
Will Rogers Downs
Monday’s feature race comes from Will Rogers Downs at 23:15, with Potomac likely to be the favourite after crossing coasts.
After disappointing in his two runs at Oaklawn Park, trainerSteve Asmussen will be hoping a change in track will signal better fortunes. He’s likely to be a popular bet and it may be worth looking elsewhere.
With only three starts, March West is lightly raced, having made his debut towards the end of his 3-year-old season. He can improveon an impressive third last time out with a more restrained ride.
There are also plenty more competitive races to bet on andwe’ll be offering an extra place in the 23:45.
