Our expert Christopher Neale previews the action

France remains centre-stage for racing fans this week and the action continues at Lyon Parilly on Friday with a 10-race card.

The Prix Bedel (13:58) is the day’s feature race. It’s a Listed race for four-year-olds, with the potential for a very promising renewal this year. Here are three horses worth keeping an eye on:

Millie Et Mille

As the winner of this race in 2017, and the runner-up last year, ‘horses for courses’ followers will be tempted by Millie Et Mille’s chances.

Now aged 10, he was a Group One Prix Du Cadran winner in his prime, and he’ll need to be on top form to maintain his superb record in this race amid a talented field with several younger contenders.

Skyward

Fabrice Chappet’s stable looks to be in very good shape since returning to action. He bagged the Group 3 Prix Vanteaux at Longchamp, with promising filly Magic Attitudebeating two fancied runners in Emoji and Flighty Lady.

San Huberto and Skyward are his two runners in the Prix Bedel and he’ll be hopeful of adding to his winners tally with one of them.

San Huberto has two wins at Listed level, one of them over course and distance, however, the unbeaten Skyward looks to be his best chance.  A son of Camelot, Skyward has improved with every run and further progression looks very likely this season.

Pappalino

Skyward’s main rival looks to be Jerome Reynier’s Pappalino. Having placed in the Group Two Prix Greffulhe last year and the Group Three Prix Exbury in March, he drops back to Listed level with strong form claims.

Monsieur Crocro is also worth a mention, with a previous Listed win to his name.  He’s twice won on his return from a lengthy break – he could take advantage if his rivals need the run.
