History against Saxon Warrior following nightmare Derby draw

Favourite’s odds have lengthened
Saxon Warrior has been eased for Saturday’s Epsom Derby after being drawn in stall one for the Classic.
Aidan O’Brien’s star had been odds-on for the contest at 8/11, but a poor draw and worsening weather has seen his price lengthen slightly.
And the son of Japanese legend Deep Impact will have to defy history if he’s to land the Classic for O’Brien for a record-equalling seventh time.
Only three horses have ever won the Derby from stall one. Oath was the last contender to do so back in 1999.
Roaring Lion, Hazapour and Young Rascal are inseparable as the nearest challengers at 8/1 apiece.
Delano Roosevelt comes next at 12/1, ahead of Knight To Behold at 20/1.
“Being drawn in stall one, on going that could well be softer than ideal, means Saxon Warrior has a couple of serious obstacles to overcome if he is to add the Derby to his Guineas win. As a result, we’ve eased him from odds-on to evens favourite, and it’s possible that price could yet drift even further,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
