Hamilton rises again after Monaco success and can capitalise at Canadian GP

Hamilton on comeback trail
Lewis Hamilton has now closed the gap on Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg to just 24 points after claiming his first victory of the 2016 Formula 1 season at the thrilling Monaco Grand Prix.
In preventing the German from winning for a fourth consecutive time at the famous French track, the defending world champion can potentially leapfrog the current leader at the Canadian Grand Prix. All the Brit needs to do is come first and Rosberg finish outside the points.
Hamilton is a very tempting 11/10 price with Coral for victory at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, for the fifth time in his career and second in succession. Rosberg, who was runner-up here last year, is 2/1 for his fifth race victory this season, however.
One man that cold rival the Mercedes duo, however, is Daniel Ricciardo, whose Red Bull team is ever-improving in 2016. The Australian was clearly bitterly disappointed not to have won in Monaco after a pit-stop blunder, so is 13/2 to reclaim the Canadian GP crown, having triumphed here in 2014.
Ricciardo to challenge Mercedes pair again
Ricciardo is yet to finish top of the podium this term after six races, though his new teammate Max Verstappen did so after switching from sister constructor Toro Rosso in Barcelona at the Spanish GP. The Dutch teenager is the 15/2 fourth-favourite for victory again.
A total of four other current drivers have all won here before too, though Ferrari pair Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have a better chance than McLaren duo Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button of claiming second titles here.
While the McLarens have gradually shown signs of improvement, with double world champion Alonso finishing fifth last time out, it is still clear that they are nowhere near the ability of Ferrari, let alone Mercedes and Red Bull.

Raikkonen, winner here in 2005, is a tempting 4/1 shout to be on the podium for the fourth time this season, while Alonso, Canada champion a decade ago, is the same price to finish in the top six once more.
As for the rest of the pack, Force India’s Sergio Perez was ecstatic after his third-place achievement in Monaco, and he is 13/8 to follow it up with a top six finish too. If you fancy the Mexican to be inspired on his return to North America, and be on the podium again, then take tempting odds of 12/1.
Williams will need to start to show their worth anytime soon. Neither Valtteri Bottas nor Felipe Massa have had a podium finish yet, but are respective 12/1 and 14/1 shouts to do so this time around.
