Golden Horde favourite to win July Cup

Commonwealth Cup winner the 11/4 favourite
Ahead of the Darley July Cup at Newmarket on Saturday, Commonwealth Cup winner Golden Horde is the 11/4 favourite to claim the victory.
The three-year-old colt has been placed out in front ahead of Sceptical, who’s the nearest challenger at 4/1 after the latest entry stage for the Group One sprint race.
Hello Youmzain comes in as the third favourite, with the Diamond Jubilee winner out at 5/1 to win the 6f sprint, ahead of Khaadem at 7/1.
Coral’s David Stevens said: “There wasn’t much between Sceptical, Hello Youmzain and Khaadem in the Diamond Jubilee, but all three have to give best in the market to the younger Golden Horde, an impressive winner at the Royal meeting and favourite to give his trainer Clive Cox a third win in the Darley July Cup.”
Elsewhere, Enable is the 6/4 favourite to bounce back from defeat in the Coral-Eclipse to win a second King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Ghaiyyath, her conqueror in last weekend’s Sandown showpiece, has been eased out to 4/1 from 7/2.
Stevens added: “Punters certainly haven’t given up on Enable adding to her Group 1 tally, with the mare 5/1 (from 6/1) second favourite for a third Arc, and she’s hardened as favourite for a repeat success in the King George, although another factor for that support could be because Ghaiyyath is far from certain to line up at Ascot later this month.”
