George Michael backed to have UK number one single

Leading bookmaker Coral has seen a flurry of bets in the last 48 hours on George Michael having a posthumous UK number one single in the official charts on Friday where the firm now make it 3-1 (from 5-1) for any of his singles to top the charts.

Coral is odds-on at 1-5 that any of George Michael’s singles reach the top 10 on Friday, while they go 4-5 that any of his albums top the official album chart.

“The betting suggests George Michael could have posthumous chart success on Friday as he is odds-on to have the number one album in the UK and for any of his singles to finish in the top 10 following a gamble over the last few days,” said Coral’s John Hill.
