Middle weekend offers up great Roland Garros wagers
We’re almost at the halfway point in the 2016 French Open, and this Saturday should produce some more compelling Grand Slam tennis.
Bearing that in mind, Coral’s tipsters have got their heads together and come up with fine fancied flutters for day seven’s scheduled action at Roland Garros.

Ivanovic takes Svitolina opening set 6-3
Women’s 14th and 18th seeds Ana Ivanovic and Elina Svitolina do battle at Roland Garros for the third consecutive year here, and the former has won both battles in straight sets.
While a repeat of that is available at 13/8, Ivanovic holds a perfect seven wins out of seven in career meetings with Ukraine player Svitolina.
In four of those victories, Ivanovic has taken the first set 6-3 and is an awesome 11/2 price to record that precise result again here.
Ferrer comes through in four against Lopez
There an all-Spanish showdown between 34-year-olds David Ferrer (11th seed) and Feliciano Lopez (21), and it is the former who has won all five previous meetings between them on clay courts.
Although all but one of those victories have come in straight sets for Ferrer, Lopez looks in decent form and is certainly capable of taking a set off his fellow veteran and compatriot.
There is thus more to like about the 5/2 to price on Ferrer winning 3-1 than another straight sets victory at 11/8.
Bertens beats Kasatkina in three
Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens caused a huge shock when she defeated Australian Open champion and third seed Angelique Kerber in round one, and now she takes on talented Russian teenager Daria Kasatkina (29).
This will be a first-ever encounter between these two, and three of their four main draw matches have gone to a decider. Given the brilliant form showed by Bertens, odds of 11/4 for her to come through this clash in three sets and win 2-1 are tempting indeed.
Almagro gets Goffin scalp again
Spain’s Nicolas Almagro has a 100 per cent record against Belgian men’s 12th seed David Goffin, and that begs the question why has the latter been made favourite for this fixture?
A 7/4 price on Almagro advancing to round four is just crying out to be taken here, having already eliminated one seed, Philipp Kohlschreiber, and dangerous Czech player Jiri Vesely en route to this game with Goffin.
Cibulkova slays Suarez Navarro in straight sets
Slovakia’s Dominika Cibulkova is seeded 10 places below Spanish opponent Carla Suarez Navarro, but the latter has lost three of their four previous encounters.
Cibulkova has triumphed in straight sets every time she’s beaten Suarez Navarro, and a repeat result is a fantastic 5/2 chance here.
