West Ham v Rapid Vienna betting tips: Austrians’ struggles continue
Preview and odds for Thursday’s Europa League match
West Ham are off to a good start in the Europa League as we look the odds to find some West Ham v Rapid Vienna betting tips.
The hosts won their first game in Europe for 15 years when downing Sparta Prague 2-0 on matchday one, while Rapid Vienna were sunk by a late goal at home to Genk.
Thursday’s clash takes place at the London Stadium and is live on BT Sport 1 with an 8pm kick-off.
West Ham v Rapid Vienna match odds
West Ham made a bright return to European action with goals from Michail Antonio and Declan Rice giving them a well-deserved 2-0 win in Croatia and they top Europa League Group H.
They come into this on the back of a 2-1 Premier League win at Leeds, having previously gone to Old Trafford and knocked Manchester United out of the League Cup.
West Ham have won 12 of their 17 home matches in major European competition (D2 L3), although they have failed to score in either of their last two such matches (0-0 vs FCSB in November 1999 and 1-0 vs Palermo in September 2006). It is 10/1 that they fail to score against Rapid Vienna in the West Ham v Rapid Vienna betting tips.
The Austrian visitors are struggling. A last-gasp Paul Onuachu goal saw them slip to a 1-0 defeat at home to Belgian club Genk on matchday one, and domestically they have taken just one point from their last four games.
On Saturday, they slipped to a third consecutive Austrian Bundesliga defeat, going down 3-0 at home to Sturm Graz, leaving them 11th of 12 in the table with two wins and two draws from nine outings.

West Ham v Rapid Vienna head-to-head
This will be the first match between these two sides in European competition, with West Ham facing Austrian opposition for the first time.
Rapid Vienna have lost four of their five away games against English sides in European competition, winning the other 3-2 against Aston Villa.
The Austrians don’t travel well. They have lost 18 of their 26 away games in the Europa League to date (W5 D3), with their last away game in this competition also coming against English opponents – a 4-1 defeat against Arsenal in the group stages last season.
The Hammers have kept three clean sheets in their last five outings and have lost just one of eight competitive games this season – a 2-1 Premier League home defeat by Manchester United.
West Ham v Rapid Vienna key battles
Though they have made a good start to the season, West Ham fans must be concerned about the small squad size. They have one recognised striker in Antonio – who has scored five times in the Premier League and is 5/6 to score at any stage – but keeping him healthy will be a priority for Moyes.
West Ham are a big side and could look to profit from set-pieces in this game. Tomas Soucek will certainly make his presence felt in the box and is 17/10 to register at any stage in a West Ham win.
