Joe Tizzard: “Bourbali is probably our best chance of the weekend”
Team Tizzard give us the lowdown on their runners at Ayr, Chepstow and Plumpton this weekend
Saturday
This horse had a nice comeback run at Fontwell back in February, but then we ran him too soon at Taunton where he was flat.
He has freshened up and has been looking good at home. The distance around Chepstow will suit him. We expect him to be very competitive in this race.
This will be his last run as a novice, so we wanted to have a shot at a decent pot for him.
It is a competitive race, but it’s what you’d expect for this prize money. We will take our chance and hope we can be in the mix.
He has been a bit disappointing this season. This is his first run back since December.
He is a good spring ground horse, and we expect him to come on for this run. This is the start of his spring-summer campaign.
We have only had this horse a month, but he has been going well at home.
We are obviously on a learning curve with him, so we will see how he fares in this race and take it from there.
Sunday
He won nicely at Sandown last month and he has also been successful at Plumpton before. We still think he is a progressive horse.
The field for this race has cut up a bit, so we are looking forward to running him. He is probably our best chance of the weekend.
Grand National
Lostintranslation and Fiddlerontheroof
Both horses schooled over the Grand National fences last Wednesday, and they jumped well. As things stand, they are in good shape.
We are excited about both of their chances. It’s the race everybody wants to win, and we are just pleased to be going there with two good horses.
