Dutch manager appointed on two-year-deal to replace Quique Setien

Ronald Koeman has been made 8/1 to win the Champions League in his first season as Barcelona head coach, according to our traders.

The former Barca legend has been appointed on a two-year-deal, replacing Quique Setien after their 8-2 Champions League quarter-final humiliation by Bayern Munich.

This season saw the Spanish giants go without winning a trophy for the first time since the 2007/08 campaign, after finishing second in La Liga to rivals Real Madrid.

Koeman left his role as Netherlands head coach to take over at the Nou Camp, and he’s 25/1 to win the treble in his first season at the helm of the Catalan side.

He becomes the sixth manager to take control of Barcelona since Pep Guardiola left in 2012, and the Dutchman is 10/11 to leave his role before the end of the 2020/21 La Liga campaign.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Our betting suggests Koeman has it all to do in his first season in charge of Barcelona as, for the first time in a number of years, they do not start the campaign as the La Liga favourites.”

“Koeman is also odds-on in our betting to leave his job before the 2020/21 La Liga season is complete,” added Hill.
