Saturday’s game at the St Mary’s Stadium kicks off at 3pm.

Southampton v Brighton match odds

Southampton stopped the rot of consecutive defeats when drawing 2-2 with Leicester and can be backed at 29/20 to claim bragging rights over their local rivals on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors meanwhile are 21/10 to find the victory that would reignite their season following a bizarre run of results for the Seagulls.

Still seventh in the table, a tilt at European qualification is not out of the question for Potter’s Pinstripes if they can recreate their early-season heroics.

Neal Maupay rescued a point for Brighton in midweek as they recorded their fourth draw from their last five outings.

That was their seventh draw of the season and with Southampton also splitting the points six times this term, a share of the spoils is 9/4 here.

It has been three games since Brighton have kept a clean sheet away from home, so both teams to score combined with the draw could appeal at 16/5 in Southampton v Brighton betting tips, while it is 11/10 for over 2.5 goals in the match.

Southampton v Brighton head-to-head

Both contests between these two last seasn ended with a 2-1 scoreline, with Brighton winning here at St Mary’s and Saints claiming the bragging rights away at the Amex.

It is 10/1 for the Seagulls to come out on top by a 2-1 scoreline once again, with a win for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side with both teams scoring 4/1 in Southampton v Brighton betting tips.

It was level at the break in both fixtures last term and it is 19/20 for this to be all-square at half-time, while Brighton scored first in both games and they are 6/5 to break the deadlock once again.

Southampton v Brighton key battles

The hosts have only lost once at home this season and could prove a tough nut for Potter’s men to crack.

Developing a reputation as one of the most tactically astute managers in the top flight, he’ll be desperate to secure a well-needed three points.

Potter will have been delighted to see Maupay grab his first goal since September on Wednesday evening and he is 7/4 to add to his tally at anytime in Southampton v Brighton betting tips.

Injury to Adam Webster leaves Potter without his tried and tested back three and Shane Duffy could return to the starting line-up.

It will also be interesting to see which position Tariq Lamptey is utilised in if making the first XI. The youngster provided the assist for Maupay’s goal against West Ham and he is 9/2 to influence a goal once again.

If Brighton are able to sure up their back-line then a Seagulls win to nil is a possibility at 4/1, with Brighton to win either half, Brighton over 1.5 goals and Brighton to keep a clean sheet available at 9/1 as a #YourCall special.
