Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash

Manchester United return to domestic action on Saturday so we examine the odds to find some Man Utd v Everton betting tips.

United suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of Aston Villa last weekend, while Everton are just behind the fourth-placed Red Devils after defeating Norwich.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at Old Trafford, kicks off at 12.30pm and is live on BT Sport 1.

Man Utd v Everton match odds

Recent defeats in different competitions against Young Boys (Champions League), West Ham (League Cup) and Aston Villa (Premier League) mean United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to avoid more slip-ups, although Cristiano Ronaldo’s last-gasp winner against Villarreal in midweek at least avoided a further setback.

Kortney Hause’s 88th-minute strike was enough to give Villa a 1-0 win at Old Trafford last weekend, ending United’s unbeaten league record.

Each of Manchester United’s last eight Premier League defeats have come in home games – it’s the longest run of defeats without suffering an away loss in top-flight history – and they are 1/2 to beat the Toffeemen.

Everton’s 2-0 win over Norwich was enough to put them, along with four other teams, a point behind leaders Liverpool after six games.

Rafa Benitez’s side have lost just once in the league this season and their away form has been solid. The Toffees lost 3-0 at Aston Villa in their last away league game but have not lost consecutive games away from Goodison Park since November 2020.

However, they have not enjoyed many previous trips to Old Trafford. Having won their first ever Premier League away game against United in August 1992, the men from Merseyside have emerged victorious in just one of their subsequent 28 visits (D7 L20).

Everton are 6/1 to win the game, and the draw – which has occurred in three of the last five meetings in all competitions – is available at 13/4 in the Man Utd v Everton betting tips.

Man Utd v Everton head-to-head

Manchester United have lost just one of their last 12 Premier League meetings with Everton (W6 D5), going down 4-0 at Goodison Park in April 2019. Everton have won one of the last 14 meetings in all competitions.

The last two meetings at Old Trafford have ended in scoring draws and it is 17/4 that this will be the case again.

Five of the last seven meetings at Old Trafford saw both sides score and it is 10/11 for this to occur again in the Man Utd v Everton betting tips.

Man Utd v Everton key battles

Benitez is known for his defensive strategy so he will be a little concerned that Everton have conceded 10 goals in their last four Premier League away games, as many as they had in their previous 14 on the road. They also shipped two in the League Cup at QPR and it is 11/1 that they win but concede.

Everton will face a United side who, in theory, have plenty of goals in them – and no-one will be keener to get off the mark than Paul Pogba. The France international has had more shots without scoring than any other player in the Premier League this season (15) and he is 7/2 to score at any time.
