Preview and odds for Saturdayโ€™s Premier League clash

Leeds seek to win their first Premier League game of the season this weekend so we have looked at the odds to find some Leeds v Watford betting tips.

Marcelo Bielsaโ€™s side lost 2-1 at home to West Ham last weekend while Watford were held to a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road by Newcastle.

Saturdayโ€™s match, which takes place at Elland Road, kicks off at 3pm.

Leeds v Watford match odds

Leeds remain without a win so far in the Premier League (D3 L3), yet they have never failed to win any of their first seven league games and are 3/4 to beat Watford.

Frustratingly for their fans, Leeds have already dropped five points from winning positions this season, drawing at Newcastle before losing at home to the Hammers.

The Whites only dropped six points when leading in the whole of 2020-21. It is 11/1 that Bielsaโ€™s side lead at half-time but fail to win.

Watford have had a somewhat indifferent start to life back in the top flight. Their 3-1 win at Norwich in their last away game ended a run of eight consecutive away Premier League defeats.

The Hornets last won consecutive top-flight games on the road back in September 2017 (three games) and they are 18/5 to win at Elland Road. The draw is on offer at 29/10.

Leeds v Watford head-to-head

This will be the first league meeting between the sides since February 2015 when Watford won 3-2 at Elland Road.

Watford have won their last three league games against Leeds, just one fewer than they had in their first 17 against them (W4 D6 L7, excluding play-offs).

The Hornets are unbeaten in their last five away league games at Leeds (W3 D2), netting 16 goals in these five matches since a 2-1 loss in February 2006, and are 11/10 to win or draw the game on the Double Chance market.

Leeds have never kept a clean sheet in their 10 home league meetings with Watford โ€“ the Hornets are the only side to have played at least four away league games against Leeds while finding the net every time, and it is 7/4 that Leeds hold Watford scoreless this time.

Leeds v Watford key battles

With one win in their last 10 against Watford in all competitions, including defeats in each of their last four meetings, Leeds will hope that their long-range shooting policy starts to pay off.

Since the start of last season, Leeds have scored more Premier League goals from outside the box than any other side (17), including three of their six strikes this season.

Meanwhile, only Crystal Palace (four) have shipped more goals from distance so far this term than Watford (three).

It is 10/21 for Mateusz Klich to have one or more shots from outside the box and 8/15 for Stuart Dallas to have one or more shots from outside the penalty area.
