Preview and odds for Sunday’s match

Fulham say farewell to the Premier League once again when they host Newcastle in their last match before returning to the Championship.

Newcastle are ending the season in decent form and can climb to 12th with a win if other results go their way.

Sunday’s match is live on Sky Sports Mix and kicks off at 4pm as we highlight a few potential Fulham v Newcastle betting tips.

Fulham v Newcastle match odds

Fulham have given their absent fans little to cheer this season but will hope to at least go out on a high as spectators return to Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers have only managed five wins after their triumph in last season’s Championship play-off final and are without a victory in the Premier League since their surprise success at Liverpool in early March.

Scott Parker’s men have picked up just two points since then, with the second of those coming on Tuesday night with a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.

Despite their poor form, Fulham are 11/10 favourites for victory on Sunday while a 14th draw of the season is 27/10.

Newcastle can be backed at 23/10 to continue the form which has seen them win four of their last seven games and a victory would see them improve on last season’s points total.

Their away form has been particularly strong, with their last three road trips resulting in wins at Burnley and Leicester either side of a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Fulham v Newcastle head-to-head

Newcastle had lost six successive games at Craven Cottage prior to their last visit in 2019 when they ended that barren run in style with a 4-0 win despite the home side having more than twice as much possession!

It was a much closer contest when the teams met at St James’ Park in December as Callum Wilson’s eighth goal of the season handed Newcastle a 1-1 draw they scarcely deserved as 10-man Fulham saw two points slip from their grasp.

Wilson won and converted a 64th-minute penalty which Joachim Andersen conceded and was sent off for his challenge.

Fulham had been deservedly ahead at the break courtesy of Matt Ritchie’s own goal and enjoyed the better of the first hour with Ademola Lookman a constant threat.

Previous XI

Fulham vs Newcastle - Football tactics and formations
Fulham: Areola, Ream, Adarabioyo, Bryan, Lemina, Reed, Zambo, Carvalho, Decordova-Reid, Cavaleiro, Lookman.

Newcastle: Dubravka, Dummett, Krafth, Fernandez, Shelvey, Ritchie, Murphy, Almiron, Willock, Joelinton, Saint-Maximin.

Key battles

Joe Willock is undoubtedly the form player for Newcastle after the on-loan Arsenal midfielder scored the only goal in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over relegated Sheffield United.

Willock became the youngest player to net in six consecutive Premier League appearances aged 21 years and 272 days, breaking Romelu Lukaku’s record by nearly a year.

Willock is 5/2 to extend his hot streak on Sunday and 7/1 to open the scoring against a Fulham defence which has gone nine games without a clean sheet.
