Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash

The Toffees and the Hornets square off in Saturday’s Premier League clash so we examine the odds to find some Everton v Watford betting tips.

Everton suffered a rare defeat by West Ham at home last week while Watford were crushed by Liverpool at Vicarage Road.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at the Goodison Park, kicks off at 3pm.

Everton v Watford match odds

Everton rarely lose to West Ham so it was something of a surprise to see the Hammers take the points with a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park last weekend.

The defeat leaves Everton in eighth place in the Premier League after eight games, five points behind leaders Chelsea.

The Toffees have won four of their eight games, although their latest loss was their eighth at home so far this year and they last lost as many when dropping nine at home in 2015.

Everton boss Rafa Benitez already faced limited options in the centre of midfield with Andre Gomez and Fabian Delph ruled out through injury.

The situation has been compounded by the news Abdoulaye Doucoure faces an extended period on the sidelines with a foot injury picked up against the Hammers.

The home side are still 4/6 favourites to beat Watford, however.

The Hornets are fifth from bottom after losing 5-0 at home to Liverpool last weekend in Claudio Ranieri’s first game in charge at Vicarage Road.

Watford have lost nine of their last 10 away games in the Premier League (W1), failing to score in seven of them. The Hornets are 9/2 to take all three points and 3/5 to score at least one goal.

There have only been four draws in 31 meetings between the teams since 1982 and that is available at 14/5.

Everton v Watford head-to-head

Everton have never lost at home to Watford in any competition (W13 D2) – it’s the most they’ve faced a side at Goodison Park without defeat in their history.

It is 5/4 Watford win or draw on the Double Chance market in the Everton v Watford betting tips.

The Hornets have won three of their last eight league games against Everton (D1 L4).

But they lost home and away to the Toffees in their last Premier League campaign in 2019-20 and have managed just five wins in 31 meetings.

Everton v Watford key battles

Containing Demarai Gray could be a headache for Ranieri’s men.

The Everton winger has scored three times this season but has also been impressive in his unselfish build-up play.

While he is 21/10 to score at any time, he is 18/5 to have an assist in the Coral #YourCall Player Assists market.

If strikers are supposed to be greedy, then Ismaila Sarr is doing the right thing as the Watford man has had 20 of his side’s poor tally of 76 shots – the fewest of any team in the division.

He is 4/1 to be Watford’s first scorer and 16/5 to score at any time.
