Preview and odds for Monday’s Premier League clash

The Toffees welcome the Clarets to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Monday night and we have scouted the odds to find some Everton v Burnley betting tips.

Rafa Benitez’s Everton side have made an unbeaten start to the season, while Burnley hope to kick-start their campaign after picking up their first point at home to Leeds.

Monday’s match, which takes place at Goodison Park, kicks off at 8pm and is live on Sky Sports.

Everton v Burnley match odds

Former Liverpool manager Benitez was a controversial summer appointment, yet it has not taken the Spaniard long to win over the Goodison Park faithful.

Far from being a defensive outfit, the Toffees have scored seven goals in their three Premier League games this season – beating Southampton 3-1, drawing 2-2 at Leeds and winning 2-0 at Brighton – as many as they had in their last 10 games last term.

Everton, who are 8/11 to win, are looking to win three consecutive home league games for the first time since a run of six between March and September 2019.

Burnley lost their opening two games – 2-1 at home to Brighton and 2-0 at Liverpool – before picking up their first point when holding Leeds to a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor

Sean Dyche’s side have lost nine of their last 12 Premier League matches (W2 D1) but each of their last four wins in the competition have all come away from home.

After losing four of their first five Premier League away games on a Monday (D1), and conceding 15 goals in the process, the Clarets have won two of their last three on the road, keeping a clean sheet in all three games, and are 19/5 to gain their first win of the season.

The draw, which has occurred in just one of the last 15 meetings between the two sides, is on offer at 13/5.

Everton v Burnley head-to-head

That one draw came at Turf Moor last season (1-1) and Burnley took four points off the Toffees, winning 2-1 at Goodison Park in December.

After winning four of their first six Premier League meetings with Burnley (L2), Everton have won just three of the last eight against the Clarets in the competition and it is 21/20 that Burnley either win or draw on the Double Chance market in the Everton v Burnley betting tips.

Dyche’s side have won two of their last four away league games against Everton, as many as they had in their previous 16 visits to Goodison Park.

Six of the last 10 meetings saw both sides find the net and it is 17/20 for both sides to score this time.

Five of the last 11 clashes yielded three goals or more and the odds for over 2.5 goals to be scored on Monday are 10/11.

Everton v Burnley team news

Everton captain Seamus Coleman (hamstring) could be fit and deadline-day signing Salomon Rondon is set for his first appearance in the squad.

Defenders Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina, and midfielder Tom Davies are back in training and available. Midfielder Fabian Delph misses out with a shoulder injury.

Record signing Maxwel Cornet could make his debut for Burnley following his £12.9million move from Lyon.

Fellow new arrival Connor Roberts is ruled out (groin), while Kevin Long and Dale Stephens also remain absent.

Everton v Burnley key battles

Dyche’s side have kept one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League games and they will be mindful of Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has scored in all three of Everton’s games this season. He is 21/20 to score at any time.

Likewise, the shrewd signing of Demarai Gray is paying early dividends. He has scored in the last two games and can be backed at 13/5 to score at any time in Everton v Burnley betting tips.
