Cristiano Ronaldo transfer odds: Dortmund new favourites

Coral’s Cristiano Ronaldo transfer odds suggest the Manchester United striker could make a move to Borussia Dortmund by the end of the summer transfer window.

The 37-year-old Portugal international is keen to leave Old Trafford again after just a year back at the club he won trophies galore with during his first spell.

His future has been a talking point for several months and Coral have put Dortmund (5/2), who lost star striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City this summer, at the top of his possible destinations.

Chelsea are still seeking reinforcements and are 4/1 having also been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

A return to Sporting Lisbon is 5/1 with Inter Milan (7/1), Atletico Madrid (10/1) and Marseille (12/1) other considerations.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Dortmund are now our favourites to sign Ronaldo when he does leave Manchester United, which could well still before the transfer window ends after he was left out of the starting XI for United’s victory over Liverpool on Monday night.

“Chelsea are still in the market for plenty of players and we aren’t ruling out a move for Ronaldo just yet, pricing them as second favourites.”

Ronaldo was dropped to the bench, along with captain Harry Maguire, for Monday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Manager Erik ten Hag said: “We have a squad and we have a way of playing, a style and a game plan. You look at what is the best approach to the game.

“That is what we did and we will do it every game. Saturday it could be different.”

Ten Hag insists Ronaldo can fit into his plans.

The Dutchman added: “I think he can. In his whole career he did it under several managers, in several styles and systems.

“He always performed so why can’t he do this? His age is not an issue.”
