Odds and preview for tonight’s Premier League game

Match Odds

Chelsea are 2/15 favourites to pile further misery on relegated Norwich, who can be backed at 16/1 to win with the draw at 15/2.

Chelsea’s four most recent games have all seen 3 or more goals, while Norwich have the worst defensive record in the league, which sees the over 3.5 goals market at 10/11.

Tammy Abraham heads up the First Goalscorer market at 14/5 to score first, or 8/11 to net anytime, with both Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud at 3/1 to score first, or 5/6 anytime.

For Norwich, Teemu Pukki leads the betting at 10/1 to score first, or 3/1 anytime.

Chelsea were given something of a reprieve last night as Manchester United drew 2-2 with Southampton, failing to capitalise on the Blues’ 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday.

That means Chelsea remain in third, and with Man City now able to compete in next season’s Champions League, every point matters. Just one point now separates Chelsea, Leicester and Man Utd who are all battling for the final two Champions League spots.

Chelsea will see tonight’s game against relegated Norwich as a must-win then – no excuses will be brooked after disappointing on the weekend – as they face the league’s weakest team.

However, with relegation confirmed for Norwich, they may feel like a weight has been lifted off their shoulders, they no longer have anything to lose and may feel they can play without pressure.

That could have a liberating effect on the Canaries and it would be no huge surprise to see them try to enjoy their football for the final few games of the season, while some players may see it as an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window and remain in the Premier League.

With attacking reinforcements on the way for Chelsea, these next few games could be important for Tammy Abraham, whose goalscoring form has tailed off badly after impressing earlier in the season. Against the league’s worst defence, he’ll be desperate to get on the scoresheet and add to his tally of 14 goals to put himself in Frank Lampard’s thoughts for next season.

The odds are heavily in favour of Chelsea here and they have largely been impressive since football’s return, recording five wins in seven games. But their defensive frailties have also been on show, conceding 10 goals across those seven games.

Norwich haven’t looked good enough to take advantage of that in recent weeks with their own defensive issues far more pronounced, but it would be foolish for Frank Lampard to underestimate an opponent no longer sitting under a cloud of impending relegation.
