The European champions and Premier League leaders host the struggling Clarets and we examine the odds to find some Chelsea v Burnley betting tips.

Burnley earned their first win of the season last weekend by defeating Brentford while Chelsea maintained their title bid with victory at Newcastle, their eighth of the season.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at Stamford Bridge, kicks off at 3pm.

Following their League Cup exit at the hands of Tottenham, Burnley bounced back last Saturday by defeating Brentford 3-1 to gain their first victory of the season at the 10th attempt.

The result leaves them 18th in the table, still three points from safety.

The Clarets have also drawn four of their 10 Premier League games and in all likelihood they will happily settle for a point from this clash with the leaders.

As it is, Burnley are 12/1 to win at Stamford Bridge while the draw odds are 9/2.

There is some hope in the trends, however.

After winning just three of their first 30 Premier League games in London (D4 L23), Burnley have won five of their last eight top-flight games in the capital (L3).

It is 29/10 they win or draw the game in the Double Chance market.

Chelsea come into this on the back of a 1-0 win at Malmo in the Champions League having triumphed 3-0 at Newcastle last Saturday.

It followed a 7-0 thrashing of Norwich and they have scored 16 goals in their opening five home Premier League games this season (W4 L1), their joint-most at this stage of a top-flight campaign.

This will be Thomas Tuchel’s 30th Premier League game in charge and the Blues have kept 18 clean sheets in that run.

In the Chelsea v Burnley betting tips, the Blues are 3/4 to keep another one and 10/11 they win to nil, as they have done in four of the last six meetings.

Chelsea v Burnley head-to-head

Chelsea have won their last four Premier League games against Burnley, scoring 12 and conceding twice.

Burnley have won just one of their 14 Premier League games against Chelsea (D3 L10).

However, five of the six points they’ve won in the competition against the Blues have come at Stamford Bridge (W1 D2 L4).

They have met 14 times in the Premier League and in all of those matches there has been a goal scored in the first half.

It is 19/20 Chelsea score in each half and 4/6 they are the first team to strike in the first 45 minutes.

Seven of the last eight meetings saw three or more total goals scored and it is 8/13 this will again be the case in the Chelsea v Burnley betting tips.

Chelsea v Burnley key battles

Chelsea have a few injuries to contend with.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner are set to remain sidelined until after the international break.

With Mason Mount also ruled out through illness in their Champions League win at Malmo, along with Mateo Kovacic (hamstring), this may not be a straightforward week for Tuchel.

However, Reece James is fit and in five starts this season he has been directly involved in six goals for Chelsea (four goals, two assists) – the joint-most of any Blues player alongside Kovacic.
