Burnley v Brentford betting tips: Clarets bid for first win
Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash
The Clarets host the Bees at Turf Moor in the Premier League and we look at the odds to find some Burnley v Brentford betting tips.
Burnley are one of three sides still searching for their first league win of the season while Brentford hope to maintain their unbeaten away record and bounce back from a home defeat to Leicester.
Both teams had contrasting fortunes in the League Cup in midweek.
Saturday’s match, which takes place at Turf Moor, kicks off at 3pm.
Burnley v Brentford match odds
Burnley have not been in bad form of late, securing three draws – the latest coming in a 2-2 stalemate at Southampton – with only a 2-0 reverse at champions Manchester City blotting their copybook.
Yet the fact remains Sean Dyche’s team are still winless after nine games in the Premier League and while it is early, they are three points from safety in 18th place.
It is the fourth time in their history they have failed to win any of their opening nine games in a league campaign.
The portents are ominous – since on each occasion they finished in the bottom two – and they also failed to win their 10th game of the season.
Burnley were also beaten 1-0 at home by Tottenham in the League Cup on Wednesday, so confidence could be running low.
The Clarets are 17/10 to win against a Brentford side who have yet to lose away from home in the Premier League this season (P4 W2 D2).
Indeed, they are unbeaten in their last 10 away league games, last enjoying a longer run between October 2013 and March 2014 (11 in a row).
Brentford are 33/20 to record their third consecutive away win in the top flight for the first time in their history, having beaten Wolves and West Ham on their previous two road trips.
Burnley have drawn four times this term and Brentford three so the stalemate is on offer at 21/10.
David Raya is set to be out for between four and five months due to a knee injury sustained on Sunday

Burnley v Brentford head-to-head
Historically, this looks a good time for Burnley to get off the mark.
They have won their last four meetings with Brentford in all competitions, most recently beating the Bees home and away in the 2015-16 Championship campaign.
Brentford have won just one of their last 12 away games against Burnley in all competitions (D5 L6), winning 2-1 in a third-tier match in December 1996.
This will be their first meeting in the top flight.
Both sides scored in six of the last nine meetings and it is 5/6 this will be the case on Saturday.
Burnley v Brentford key battles
Dyche will be well aware his side have to do a much better job of holding onto a lead.
Burnley have opened the scoring in five different Premier League games this season but have yet to win any of them (D3 L2).
The Clarets have dropped more points from winning positions than any other side in the Premier League this term (12).
It is 2/1 they are the first team to score in the first half and it is 10/1 Burnley have a lead at half-time and fail to win.
