Preview and odds for Sunday’s Premier League clash

The Gunners are on an unbeaten run of seven games and host the Hornets on Sunday as we look at the odds to find some Arsenal v Watford betting tips.

Arsenal lost their first three games but are on a roll, while Watford failed to build on their win at Everton and lost at home to Southampton last weekend.

Sunday’s match, which takes place at the Emirates Stadium, kicks off at 2pm and is live on Sky Sports.

Arsenal v Watford match odds

Since dropping their first three games to start the season, Arsenal have been firing and are unbeaten in their last seven games.

Following back-to-back wins over Aston Villa and Leicester, the Gunners are up to sixth in the Premier League, just three points off the top four. They have not had a longer unbeaten run since January and March 2020 (eight games) and Mikel Arteta’s side are 2/5 to maintain the momentum by beating Watford.

Since losing against both West Brom and Newcastle in 2010-11, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 31 Premier League home games against promoted sides (W26 D5).

The Gunners have only failed to score in one of those matches, a goalless draw with Middlesbrough in October 2016.

Watford beat Everton 5-2 in their last away Premier League match and are looking for consecutive away wins in the competition for the first time since September 2017 under Marco Silva.

Such has been the turnover at Watford that the Hornets’ last five away wins in the Premier League have come under different managers: Javier Gracia, Quique Flores, Nigel Pearson, Xisco and Claudio Ranieri. They are 13/2 to win at the Emirates.

This will be Ranieri’s fourth game in charge of Watford and he is looking for a second win, but he has never beaten the Gunners in 11 previous attempts (D4 L7), losing all five games away.

Draws are rare between these two. There have been just two stalemates in the last 32 meetings and the draw is available at odds of 18/5.

Arsenal v Watford head-to-head

Arsenal have won 11 of their 14 Premier League meetings with Watford (D1 L2), scoring at least once every single time they’ve faced the Hornets in the competition.

Watford have lost six of their seven away Premier League games against Arsenal, with the exception being a 2-1 victory in January 2017.

Watford are on a run of five without a win over Arsenal. Their longest run without a win was six games between September 1999 and October 2015 (all defeats). Watford are 15/8 to win or draw the game on the Double Chance market.

Both sides scored in seven of the last 12 meetings and both teams to find the net this time can be backed in Arsenal v Watford betting tips at 4/5.

Arsenal v Watford key battles

Watford must be prepared not to sit so deep in the first period. They have conceded a league-high 10 goals in the first half of their 10 Premier League games and they face a Gunners side that have scored the bulk of their goals in the first period (nine of 12). It is 15/4 that Arsenal lead by more than one goal at the break.

Watford must also be wary of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has netted six goals in his five appearances against the Hornets. He scored twice in both meetings in the 2019-20 campaign and is 19/20 to score at any time and 9/2 to score two or more.
