Preview and odds for Friday’s Premier League clash

Arsenal bid to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to six games as we look at potential Arsenal v Aston Villa betting tips.

Alexandre Lacazette’s stoppage-time strike earned the Gunners a share of the spoils against Crystal Palace on Monday while Villa are licking their wounds after a home defeat by Wolves.

Friday’s match, which takes place at the Emirates Stadium, kicks off at 8pm and is live on Sky Sports Main Event.

Arsenal v Aston Villa match odds

The Gunners were fortunate to get something from Monday’s clash with Palace, with Eagles boss and former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira just seconds away from making a triumphant return to the club where he won three Premier League titles in the space of nine years as a player.

Yet the 2-2 draw leaves the Gunners in 12th place in the table with 11 points from eight games. They have scored just seven goals, with only Norwich, Burnley and Southampton netting fewer.

At least Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains in form. His early opener against Palace means he has scored in each of his last three Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium.

In total, he’s netted 42 Premier League goals at the Emirates, with only Robin van Persie claiming more at the ground in the competition (46).

Aubameyang is 23/20 to score at any time while the Gunners are 10/11 to win the game.

Villa, who arrive on the back of a 3-2 home defeat by Wolves, are a place and a point behind their hosts.

Dean Smith’s side have lost five of their last eight away league games (W3), as many as they had in their previous 17 on the road (W7 D5 L5).

Meanwhile, they have never won a Premier League away game on a Friday before (D2 L2) and are 16/5 to prevail in the Arsenal v Aston Villa betting tips.

There has been just one draw in the last 18 meetings and the odds for a stalemate this time are 13/5.

Arsenal v Aston Villa head-to-head

Arsenal have lost four of their last 10 home league games against Villa (W6).

The Gunners have only lost more league games at the Emirates Stadium against Manchester City (five) and Chelsea (six).

Villa have won their last three Premier League meetings with Arsenal, as many as they had in their previous 36 against them in the competition (W3 D9 L24).

They last won four consecutive league games against the Gunners in September 1962 and it is 19/20 they avoid defeat on the Double Chance market.

Each of the last nine Premier League meetings between Arsenal and Villa at the Emirates have seen at least three goals scored and it is 4/5 this trend continues in the Arsenal v Aston Villa betting tips.

Arsenal v Aston Villa key battles

Arsenal have conceded in three of their four home games in the league this term.

They will be keen to keep a sharp watch on Villa striker Ollie Watkins, who scored three of their four goals against Arsenal in the Premier League last season.

Watkins is 13/5 to score at any time and 22/1 to net two or more.

Likewise, Villa will need to shackle Lacazette, who is averaging a goal or assist every 46 minutes in all competitions this season.

He is 23/20 to net at any stage and it is 11/2 for the Arsenal striker to score two or more.
