Preview and odds for Wednesday’s Champions League clash

Liverpool have already qualified as group winners and look vulnerable as odds-on favourites as we pick some Liverpool v Porto betting tips.

Four wins from four Champions League matches this season mean Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has a rare opportunity to rest his star players if he chooses.

Wednesday’s match at Anfield kicks off at 8pm and is live on Sky Sports.

Liverpool v Porto match odds

Liverpool looked to have been handed a tricky Champions League group when the draw was made but they have breezed through to the last 16.

The Reds have had too much firepower for their rivals to handle, scoring 13 goals in their four wins, although the 2-0 victory against Atletico Madrid three weeks ago was their first clean sheet.

Liverpool are 10/11 to maintain their winning run while a home win and both teams to score is 12/5.

There have been at least five goals in three of their matches and over 4.5 goals can be added to Liverpool v Porto betting tips at 19/5.

The big question is what sort of team Klopp will put out and Porto are 3/1 to take advantage of any squad rotation with a win while the draw is 27/10 and the visitors are 10/11 to avoid defeat.

Liverpool v Porto head-to-head

Liverpool’s biggest win of the campaign so far came in the reverse fixture at the Estadio do Dragao in September.

Mohamed Salah scored twice and Sadio Mane once before Roberto Firmino, a late substitute, bagged a brace inside five minutes as the man he replaced – Diogo Jota – was the one to miss out against his former club.

The two teams have met seven times previously in the Champions League and Porto are yet to win, although they managed a home draw in 2007 and a goalless draw at Anfield in 2018 when they were already 5-0 down from the first leg.

Liverpool have scored at least four goals in four of the last six meetings and can be backed at 7/1 to do so again.

Liverpool v Porto key battles

Salah and Mane both played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool’s 4-0 demolition of Arsenal at the weekend and it would be a surprise if they both started here.

Takumi Minamino came off the bench to score on Saturday and will hope to feature, with the Japan international 11/5 to be on target again and 6/1 to open the scoring.

Porto eased to a 5-1 cup win against Feirense at the weekend so should be relatively fresh.

Luis Diaz is in fine form with five goals in his last five games for his club, including in both Champions League matches against AC Milan.

The Colombia striker is 15/8 in the anytime goalscorer odds while Jota and Diaz both to score at 8/1 looks a good price in the #YourCall markets as the last of our Liverpool v Porto betting tips.
