Pep Guardiola’s side evens for their fifth Premier League title

After conceding the 2019/20 Premier League title to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been placed as even-money favourites for the 2020/21 title.

The Cityzens finished 18 points behind the Reds this season, but Guardiola will be desperate to get City back on track in the league and claim their fifth Premier League title.

Klopp’s side stormed the league this campaign, matching a league record of 32 wins in a season on their way to 99 points and a first Premier League title. They’re 11/8 to retain their crown.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “City’s form since the resumption of the Premier League, despite being nowhere near Liverpool, was absolutely fantastic and in our eyes, they are the favourites to win the league next year.”

Elsewhere, Manchester United are 8/1 third favourites to win a first league title since the 2012/13 season, being the form side in the second half of the season.

With Chelsea expected to spend big to refresh their squad after their transfer ban, they’re 12/1 to win the league next season under Frank Lampard.

“Manchester United and Chelsea aren’t far behind in the betting and it could be a four-horse race with all sides strengthening,” added Aitkenhead.
