Man City v Burnley Betting Tips: Will Kevin De Bruyne deliver another masterclass?

Odds and preview for Monday’s Premier League clash

Match Odds

Manchester City have won each of the last five games between these sides at the Etihad, scoring 19 and only conceding twice in the process. They’re clear 2/15 favourites or 3/4 to win to nil.

Burnley are up against it at 18/1, with the draw a 15/2 shot.

Sergio Aguero has nine goals in nine appearances against Sean Dyche’s team. He’s 2/1 favourite to score first or 4/9 anytime. Gabriel Jesus is 13/5 to open the scoring. And after ending his drought last week, Raheem Sterling is 19/20 to net again. Kevin De Bruyne is 7/4 to score.

Burnley could be without Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood here. Matej Vydra and Jay Rodriguez are 7/2 and 4/1 respectively to score.

Man City seem to have little to play for in the rest of the Premier League campaign. It’s surely just a matter of time before Liverpool are confirmed as champions. And depending on the outcome of their CAS case, finishing in the top four could be rendered irrelevant.

That means their main focus is the Champions League – especially as they’re facing a two-year ban from Europe’s biggest club competition. That won’t mean they’re taking tonight’s game against Burnley lightly though – they’ll want to be in top form ahead of their last-16 second leg against Real Madrid.

City swatted Arsenal aside in their first match back. Pep Guardiola will want to see another controlling display as his team gets back to full fitness.

Kevin De Bruyne wasn’t quite at his sharpest last week, but he was still far too good for the Gunners. He’s now got 16 assists in the top-flight this season, with Thierry Henry’s record of 20 well within reach. The Belgium international is 19/20 to register another assist here.

He’s almost certain to start again, but there could be changes elsewhere as Guardiola looks to give everyone minutes. Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Rodrigo and Joao Cancelo could all come in.

One player who is unlikely to start though, is Leroy Sane. He could still be a useful option from the bench. But it’s hard to see the City boss making him a key part of the side now, given his desire to leave.

Whoever starts, City will be confident of continuing their good record against Burnley, though the Clarets shouldn’t be underestimated.

Burnley odds, Premier League odds, Sean Dyche odds

Prior to the enforced break, they’d gone unbeaten in seven league games. That run included wins over Leicester City and Manchester United, as well as a draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

The visitors also have an outside chance of securing a Europa League shot. A surprise win tonight would put them firmly in contention.

If they can ruffle a few feathers and disrupt City’s rhythm, they could cause problems for the home side. The little danger Arsenal caused came from direct passes in between the two centre-backs – expect Burnley to see if there’s a chink in the armour there.
