Preview and odds for Saturday’s Premier League clash

The Citizens and Gunners had contrasting results last weekend and they clash on Saturday so we look at some Man City v Arsenal betting tips.

Manchester City easily overcame newly-promoted Norwich with a clinical 5-0 victory, while Arsenal still seek their first points of the season after losing 2-0 at home to Chelsea.

Saturday’s match, which takes place at the Etihad Stadium, kicks off at 12.30pm and is live on BT Sport.

Man City v Arsenal match odds

An undermanned City side lost their Premier League opener at Spurs, but the champions bounced back in fine style against Norwich on Saturday.

Goals from Jack Grealish, Aymeric Laporte, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and an own goal from Tim Krul handed Pep Guardiola’s side a 5-0 success and they are 1/4 to beat Arsenal.

City have won both of their last two Premier League home games by a 5-0 scoreline. In Premier League history, only Man City themselves (October 2017) and Chelsea (August 2010) have won three consecutive home games by five-plus goals.

It is 3/1 that five or more goals will be scored in total and 20/1 that City win 5-0.

Having lost 2-0 at Brentford and then by the same score on Sunday in the London derby against Chelsea, Arsenal are still searching for their first points of the season and are 12/1 to win at the Etihad for the first time since 2015.

Arsenal have failed to score in their first three league games in just two of their previous 117 seasons. City are 4/5 to keep a clean sheet on Saturday.

There have been two draws in the last 13 meetings and it is 19/4 for a stalemate to occur this time.

Man City v Arsenal head to head

Arsenal have won 98 of their 203 meetings since 1893, with City winning 60 of those clashes.

However, the Gunners have won just two of the last 15 meetings (L11 D2) and those two wins were both in the FA Cup.

City won both Premier League meetings 1-0 last season – as well as claiming a 4-1 League Cup success at the Emirates – and it is 13/2 that City win 1-0 again.

In five of the last six meetings at the Etihad, City have scored at least two goals and they are 21/20 to score three times or more against Arsenal.

No fewer than 14 of the last 19 meetings saw three goals or more scored and it is 8/15 for that trend to continue in Man City v Arsenal betting tips.

City have won seven of the last 10 meetings to nil and they are Evens to do so again on Saturday.

Man City v Arsenal key battles

Arsenal may well welcome a few players back this week, but they still have defensive limitations and their biggest battle will be to get players fit and healthy.

This week they will continue to miss £50m central defender Ben White, who is the latest Arsenal player to contract Covid-19.

The Gunners have won just one of their last 17 away league games against reigning champions (D6 L10), with that victory coming at Manchester City in January 2015 (2-0).

In their league history, the Gunners have only lost each of their first three league games on four occasions and they are 16/5 to gain at least a point to round off our Man City v Arsenal betting tips.
