Liverpool v AC Milan match odds

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season with a 3-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday.

In good form and having reached the last eight in the Champions League last term, only to lose to Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate after being held 0-0 at Anfield in the return leg, Jurgen Klopp’s side will fancy their chances of progressing from Group B, which also comprises Atletico Madrid and Porto.

Liverpool are 8/1 to lift the Champions League and evens to win Group B.

Under Klopp, the Reds have only lost one of their 12 group stage games in the Champions League at Anfield (W9 D2), going down 2-0 to Atalanta last season, and are 8/15 to beat AC Milan.

Since the start of the 2017-18 season, only two teams have won more games than Liverpool (25) in the Champions League – Bayern Munich (31) and Manchester City (30).

Liverpool have scored 95 Champions League goals in that period, too.

Indeed, they have averaged 2.5 goals per home game in the group stage since the German took charge (30 goals).

They are 8/15 to score at least two goals and it is 8/5 they net three or more in the Liverpool v AC Milan betting tips.

AC Milan, runners up to rivals Inter in Italy’s Serie A last term, won their first three games of the new season including Sunday’s 2-0 home win over Lazio.

This will be their first game in the Champions League since March 2014, when they were eliminated by Atletico Madrid over two legs in the Round of 16.

They are 5/1 to top the group and 100/1 to win the Champions League.

AC Milan have only won two of their last eight games in European competition (D4 L2), all of which came in the Europa League last season.

They are 24/5 to beat Liverpool while the draw is available at 16/5.

Liverpool v AC Milan head-to-head

Liverpool and AC Milan have only met on two previous occasions in European competition, with both of them coming in the final of the Champions League.

The Reds won 3-2 on penalties in 2005 before losing 2-1 in normal time in 2007.

After winning six of their first seven home games against Italian sides in European competition (L1), Liverpool have gone winless in the most recent two – drawing 1-1 with Napoli in 2019-20 and losing 2-0 to Atalanta in 2020-21.

It is 4/1 the game will end in a scoring draw while AC Milan are 8/1 to win but concede.

AC Milan have only won one of their last 13 games against English opponents in European competition (D4 L8), with that lone victory coming against Arsenal in this competition in February 2012 (4-0).

AC Milan are 29/20 to either win or draw the match in the Double Chance market in the Liverpool v AC Milan betting tips.

Liverpool v AC Milan key battles

Liverpool won’t fancy facing Olivier Giroud (pictured above).

He has netted eight goals in 16 appearances in all competitions against Liverpool for Arsenal and Chelsea between 2012-13 and 2019-20 and is 11/4 to score at any time.

Likewise, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a good strike-rate.

He has 48 Champions League goals to his name from 120 games, with nine of those coming for AC Milan between 2010 and 2012. The former Manchester United striker is 21/10 to score at any time.

AC Milan will hope to keep Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah quiet.

Mane has netted 19 times in 42 Champions league appearances and is 9/2 to score the first goal.

Salah has 25 goals in this competition in four seasons and is 19/20 to net.
